Why We Ask for Your MAC Address – Explained

When you submit a support request, we may ask for your MAC address. This helps us identify your device on the network and provide the fastest, most accurate help.


What is a MAC Address?

  • MAC = Media Access Control
  • It’s a unique ID assigned to your device’s network adapter (like a fingerprint for your device on the network)
  • Format: 6 pairs of letters and numbers, like 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E

Why We Need It

We use your MAC address to:

  • Locate your device on the network
  • Diagnose issues like IP conflicts or dropped connections

How to Find Your MAC Address

Windows

  • Press Windows + R, type cmd, press Enter
  • Type: ipconfig /all
  • Look for “Physical Address” under your network adapter

Mac

  • Go to System Settings > Network > Wi-Fi > Details
  • Look for Wi-Fi Address

iPhone/iPad

  • Settings > General > About > Wi-Fi Address

Android

  • Settings > About Phone > Status > Wi-Fi MAC Address

Game Consoles (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch)

  • Go to Network Settings > Advanced or Status to find your MAC address

Submitting a MAC Address

When sending it in, please include:

  • The full MAC address (double check it)
  • The device type (e.g., Xbox Series X, Smart TV)
  • Your room number and property name
