What to Expect from Move-In Day Internet Setup

Overview

Move-in day is exciting, and we know getting connected to the internet is a top priority. This guide explains what to expect from your network setup on Day 1, how to connect your devices, and where to go for help if needed.

What's Already Set Up

Good news:

  • The property network is already installed and active before you arrive
  • There’s Wi-Fi coverage throughout the building
  • Some rooms also have Ethernet ports for wired connections (not applicable at all properties)

What You Should Bring

  • Your devices (laptops, phones, tablets, etc.)
  • Ethernet cable (if you plan to use a wired connection)
  • Power strips (optional but helpful)
  • USB-to-Ethernet adapter (if your device doesn’t have an Ethernet port)

Connecting to Wi-Fi

  1. Look for the network name (SSID) provided for your building (e.g., Unit XXX or a property-specific name)
  2. Select it from your device’s Wi-Fi menu
  3. When prompted for a password, use the one provided by your property or on your move-in materials. If you are unable to locate your password, submit a support ticket

Using Ethernet

  • Plug one end of the cable into your device, and the other into the wall jack
  • Most devices will connect automatically

Common First-Day Questions

Q: My device can’t find the Wi-Fi.
A: Try restarting the device, moving closer to the access point, or checking with a staff member for the correct SSID.

Q: What if I don’t get connected?
A: No problem—submit a support ticket and include your name, property, room number, and device type.

Final Tips

  • Test your connection as soon as you're moved in
